1. What is this thing?
This is an adapter to go from a 1/4 inch diameter flagpole down to a 6mm flagpole so you can plug your 1/4 inch pole into a 6mm mount. 6mm is slightly smaller than 1/4 inch, so you can’t just plug a 1/4 inch pole into a 6mm mount. You need this adapter to do it, or else you have to sand your 1/4 inch pole down to 6mm. This adapter is much easier than sanding fiberglass.
2. How does it work?
The bottom part is a 6mm carbon fiber rod. It sticks out 2 inches from the carbon fiber ferrule in the middle. The ferrule is 1/4 inch diameter inside. A 1/4 inch pole can be inserted 2 inches down inside the ferrule. The thing at the top is a silicone grip collar. It keeps the pole from getting any ideas about bouncing out.
3. How do I know I need one?
If your flagpole doesn’t fit in your mount, you almost certainly have a 1/4 inch pole and a 6mm mount. One of the most common 6mm mounts is the Catrike mount. However, if you order a Purple Sky Flag for your Catrike, you can order it with the bottom end of the flagpole sanded down to 6mm. It’s only when you already have a 1/4 inch flagpole that you need this adapter. And then, it comes in really handy!

- All carbon fiber and silicone construction. Super simple to use, just insert the 6mm end into your 6mm flagpole mount, then plug your 1/4 inch flagpole through the silicone grip collar and into ferrule.
- Approximately 5.5 inches overall length. The 6mm carbon fiber pole on the bottom is 2 inches long. It is bonded 1 inch up inside the 1/4 inch ID carbon fiber ferrule. A 1/4 inch flagpole can be inserted 2 inches down inside the ferrule. The silicone grip collar holds the flagpole and keeps it from coming out until you release it.
- Simply insert the 6mm end into your 6mm flagpole mount, then plug your 1/4 inch flagpole through the silicone grip collar and into ferrule. To remove the flagpole, squeeze the grip collar to break the suction and remove the flagpole. Alternatively, you can use a fingernail to push the grip collar back while you twist and pull the flagpole.
